Alki Beach Engagement | Laura + Jeff

Laura and Jeff are both very active so Alki beach was a natural choice for their engagement pictures because they have many great memories there. I met them on the main beach area and we walked around getting photos. Then we drove around the point to get a view of the skyline while they rollerbladed by. It was tons of fun and we lucked out with great weather, even if it was a tad chilly! Their wedding is right around the corner in April and I am looking forward to it!

Discovery Park / Pike’s Place Market Engagement | Lauren + Kyle

Lauren and Kyle chose to have their engagement session take place in the beautiful south part of Discover Park. Along for the ride were their little pooches, Addie and Willie, who joined us on the trails sporting their adorable little outfits. After that we hit Pikes Place Market and were beat to it by a flash mob, but once the crowd wearing red dispersed we were able to get some great market pictures. I am looking forward to their July wedding at Shilshole Bay Beach Club!

Palace Ballroom Wedding | Christy + Rich (2/2)

Christy and Rich held their ceremony at the First United Methodist Church of Seattle. Toni, my second photographer, was positioned in the balcony while I moved around in the back of the sanctuary. After their short and sweet ceremony, is was off to the Palace Ballroom via a Rolls Royce. Love love love the Palace Ballroom! The exposed brick is rustic yet it is a very elegant space. And how can you go wrong with Tom Douglas catering? Bon appetit! The toasts were some of the most hilarious I ever witnessed. After cutting the cake, Christy and Rich had a very romantic first dance followed by their guests hitting dance floor with lots of crazy moves for hours.

2011 Best of Weddings

It’s a huge undertaking to compile a “best of collection” from an entire year of photographs, so even though this post includes a large number of images, there are still many more that could easily have made the cut!

Palace Ballroom Wedding | Christy + Rich (1/2)

Christy and Rich both got ready at the Marriot Residence Inn on Lake Union. Toni, my second photographer, met us at the hotel to catch one of the two limos that would take us around the city for photos. We hit the Olympic Sculpture Park for their “first look” and then rode up to Kerry Park and then nearby Parsons Gardens.

2012 Seattle Wedding Show

The Seattle Wedding Show took place last weekend and it was a huge success. I got to meet and talk with many wonderful brides (and some grooms) at the show. Below are some photos of the booth.

The Seattle Wedding Show is just a couple of weeks away and I’ll be there again in booth #118! Whether you’ve worked with me or hope to in the future, I urge you to visit and stop by to say and see our sample work! It’s one crazy and fun event with lots of cake to taste and frequent fashions shows. And as always, there will be a special discount for those who talk with us at the show! Lake Union Cafe Wedding | Laura + Scott (2/2)

Laura and Scott were married at the same church that her mother was married in. Prior to the start of the ceremony, Laura and her attendants freshened up while the groomsmen were ushers. Laura’s mother has a wedding photo with her and her mother in front of the mirror while getting ready so we created a reenactment of that photo for Laura in the exact same place with the same mirror! It’s rewarding to see a second generation in the same spot on such a special day! After the ceremony, Laura and Scott exited the chapel to hundreds of flower petals being thrown about. The reception took place at the Lake Union Cafe. I love the interior of the Lake Union Cafe — gorgeous! Dinner, cake, toasts, and fun dancing all followed. Their wedding cake was decorated after the Ballard farmers market where they went on their first date and also where we took their engagement photos.

Lake Union Cafe Wedding | Laura + Scott (1/2)

Laura and Scott both got ready for the day at the Silver Cloud Hotel on Lake Union. Laura’s mother helped her into her dress (loved the dress!) and her bridesmaids helped with the veil. The girls were all ready well ahead of schedule so the guys had a to scramble to catch up! The threat of heavy rain led us to compile a list of “rain safe” locations to visit for portraits. First, we hit Volunteer Park and its beautiful covered conservatory. After that we were able to get backdoor access into the Washington Mutual Tower in downtown and capture some photos in the atrium. After that we all headed to the church for the remaining photos — so stay tuned!

St Ignatious Seattle University Wedding | Keely and Tom

Kelly and Tom first met at Seattle University, so they chose to be married at the beautiful and unique St Ignatious chapel at Seattle University. Keely started the day by getting ready at the Silver Cloud Hotel across the street. We then all walked to the chapel for some quick photos of her bridesmaid and family so she could hide away before Tom arrived! After all of the photos I jaunted over to the Campion Ballroom to get some photos of the decor knowing I wouldn’t get a chance to later. Keely and Tom chose not to see each other until the ceremony, and Tom’s expression as she walked down the isle was full of emotion and pure joy! After the ceremony and a short receiving line, I walked with Tom and Keely to the reception and we got photos along the way in the brisk autumn evening. They had a wonderful dinner with fun toasts and really fun dancing!
